The issue of extremism is one of the issues that threatens the security and stability of the state, and extremism represents the main gateway to terrorism and is one of the most dangerous challenges facing states and societies. Iraq, like all countries, has suffered from extremism and terrorism. An increase in acts of violence and extremism has been observed after 2003, and the reasons that lead to extremism have diversified, which requires standing on the most important mechanisms to confront extremism that leads to terrorism. Therefore, it has become necessary to adopt comprehensive and multiple mechanisms that address the roots of this phenomenon
