Keywords:
Functional Strength Training, Volleyball, Athletes with DisabilitiesAbstract
The importance of the study lies in the use of core training and its effect on some physical abilities and offensive skills of sitting volleyball players, through which performance levels can be developed more rapidly, serving coaches and the game itself by optimizing time and effort to achieve the research objectives. These objectives include designing functional core strength training programs, applying them to the research sample, and identifying the effect of functional core strength training on certain physical abilities and offensive skills of sitting volleyball players.
The experimental method was adopted; therefore, the researcher used a one-group experimental design due to its suitability for the nature of the studied problem. The research sample was intentionally selected from the Wasit Governorate Committee, represented by players of the Special Needs Volleyball Club (Sitting Volleyball), due to the availability of the required conditions such as equipment, a dedicated training hall, regular attendance, and proximity. The sample consisted of (9) players.
Based on the statistical analysis of the results, the researcher concluded that the applied training contributed to the development of physical abilities and achieved a relative integration in the performance mechanism of offensive skills, which led to a noticeable improvement in these skills. In light of these conclusions, the researcher recommends adopting functional core strength training by sitting volleyball coaches in a scientific manner, due to its effectiveness in developing physical abilities and offensive skills, as well as increasing excitement and enhancing the spirit of competition.
